What November 2.0 brings

3 Nov

For the past few days we’ve all watched the impact of Hurricane Sandy, which is particularly personal to me as a resident of New York City.  For so many reasons right now, only one thing is important this month: THE ABILITY TO HELP OTHERS WHO DESPERATELY NEED IT.

I was without electricity and water for two nights before making it to a friend’s for three more.  My electricity and water are back on.  And it’s only day six.  I am beyond lucky.  There are thousands of people just miles away from me who want to go home but have no home to go to.  They have lost absolutely everything.

PLEASE, do anything you can to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Visit www.redcross.org, call 800-Red-Cross or text the word “Redcross” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Text NYCFUND to 50555 to give $10 to the Mayor’s Fund and give aid directly to NYers who need it.

Also, check out NOLA to New York, messages of encouragement that are uniting people, even under the worst of circumstances.
